1997 – 2005 - associate professor at Engineering Science Faculty Ghent University. Research : fatigue of steel orthotropic bridge decks, imperfections and buckling of steel arch bridges, non-continuous stiffening of bridge girder panels etc.;
1993 - 1997 - lecturer at Engineering Science Faculty Ghent University. Courses on concept and construction of bridges and tunnels;
Since 1.06 2013 - Owner with Hyperion Services SPRL. Structural and civil engineering, steel construction and various consultancies, consultancy for heritage structures;
2007-2013 - Head of engineering department TUC RAIL Ltd. Public procurement and legislation, technical supervision; 1992-2006 - Head of design office for steel bridges and tunnels with TUC RAIL Ltd;
1990-1991 - Head of bridge design office SNCB (Belgian Railway Cy). Management of bridges and civil-maintenance;
1981-1991 - design engineer with the bridge design office of SNCB. Detailed design of bridges tunnels;
1997-1981 - maintenance engineer with the regional principal’s office Brussels of SNCB;
1975-1976 - research assistant with the laboratory for research on structural models Ghent University.
